Karuizawa, Korea

  • Jul. 1st, 2008 at 9:11 PM
We went to Karuizawa in Nagano last weekend. It was a mostly in the mountains, so the temperature was rather cold, at least compared to Tokyo. However, as it was in the mountains, there wasnt really much to see there.

Then today, Korean students from Korea's Kyung Hee University came to Waseda University, and they sat in for our class. Two korean students were assigned to a Waseda student, and we had lessons as per normal. Unfortunately, given our current level of Korean skills, we were not able to carry out meaningful conversations, not even simple questions. It would have been fine if they could speak English or Japanese. Well, some of them could, but some could not really understand our English, so there was really a communication breakdown.

Nevertheless, it was kinda fun, and I felt motivated to work harder on my Koreanso that I would be able to carry out conversations with Korean natives in future.

After the lessons, we proceeded to Okuma Canteen for lunch together~~

It’s being reported by Japanese TV that X Japan will soon announce the new dates for the currently postponed world tour. The broadcast mentioned London and Taiwan concerts in October, and Tokyo and Paris in November with more information pending. They indicated that those are not the only tour stops. More info as it comes, and this is certainly no more then a rumor at this point. The addition of a London show is interesting.

expo anyone?^^

"her lips like roses wet with dew, her heaving bosom lily-white"
it is twelves minutes past two in the afternoon and on the television, Woman A listens with growing conviction to the wonders of breast enlargement as told by her busty counterpart. forty-five minutes to four o'clock and over at a friend's livejournal, someone laments the flatness of her chest. "i want bigger breasts," is a proclamation that hangs on almost every girl's lips. a small cup, it seems, is like a bad habit that needs to be dropped, a mistake that demands to be rectified. yet why should one be ashamed or made to feel ashamed that she has not the plunging cleavage of mrs brad pitt? surely, a fuller bust is not the only route to boosting one's confidence, and it will be atrocious to think that after all these talk about women's rights and freedom, we are still slaves to the ideals of men.

as for myself, i am very happy with my natural born assets, however small, thank you very much.

flying off to thailand for another production in july... returning early to singapore for bloody stupid school. sad! i'd rather stay longer there if not for the fact that i HAVE to be present in school gahhh.

anyway will be going to phuket, koh samui and krabi to film another 6 resorts, another one month production but i'd be there only for 2 weeks.

this song rocks!

Visited Katsurahama today! Mainly for the aquarium actually, but I visited the Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum at the same time.

The aquarium was really small, but I spent nearly 2 hours in it o_O I'm quite sure it doesn't contain as many fish species as the Underwater World in Singapore, but I think what they had interested me more. There's stuff like dolphin shows (really simple ones, yet entertaining all the same) and seal shows. I only managed to catch the dolphin one, because I happened to reach the aquarium just in time for the start of the show. I found it really amusing that the seals in the adjacent enclosure kept making noise at rather appropriate moments of the dolphin show, I must add, as if they're trying to attract everyone's attention over. Haha. AA la, all of them XD

After the aquarium was the Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum. I don't really know how to describe it, but he's a big figure in Japanese history. Pity he got assasinated by pro-Bakufu people when he was only 33. The museum was interesting, but I went around not understanding most of the stuff because they were all in Japanese. No English explanations >_< The stuff on display were fascinating though. I only have one photo of the interior of the museum, because they didn't allow the rest to be photographed.

This is a wax(?) statue of Sakamoto Ryoma. (<- to be uploaded later as well)

Then after Katsurahama, it was on to the Nightmare live! Which is the reason I came to Kochi for in the first place. Thankfully, I managed to find my way, because I spotted the livehouse while on the bus on my way to Katsurahama. I arrived at 4pm and realised that there were already people there o_O And that the goods table was already open o_O. It was drizzling lightly, and I was wondering if I should buy an umbrella from the convenience store nearby which I walked past. Decided to pass on the umbrella in the end. More on that bad decision later. So I queued and managed to buy some tour goods. Photos of the spoils of the day will be uploaded later. I told the woman I wanted one of everything, but it seems like she didn't consider "trading cards" as part of the "everything" -_- And she had to ask me if I wanted the bath towel and tour t-shirt. I mean, if I say "zenbu", doesn't it REALLY mean EVERYTHING that's there? But she was nice though. Luckily she asked me about the towel and tour shirt because I DEFINITELY AS HELL want the tour shirt. Too bad the parka was sold out by the time I got htere though =( And come to think about it, she didn't ask me about the tank-top either. So there's a possibility that it might have been sold out already. Boo.

Anyway the live ended in what seemed like a flash although it was nearly 2 hours in total. I didn't manage to catch anything, although a bottle that Hitsugi threw landed just beside me to my left, and Sakito's pick fell somewhere to my right. I did get splashed by some of the water, so er.. I guess that's some consolation?

While we were in the livehouse, the rain subsided quite a bit. I don't know if there was demachi or anything though I highly suspect not. At any rate, I decided to walk back because I thought that my hotel was within a walkable distance. Boy I was never this wrong. The walk back took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then halfway it begain to rain again, and I walked until I saw the Lawsons (that I earlier on postulated that Ni~ya was visiting when I met him on Kochi-bashi). Decided that I might as well buy my dinner there, and figured that I was near enough to my hotel to just heck and walk back in the rain. After all, if you'ver already walked an hour in the rain, how bad is 15 minutes? But the strange thing was, the rain cleared totally by the time I stepped out of Lawsons. So weird.

It's back to Fukuoka for me tomorrow. No hopes of meeting Nightmare on the train again, because they're probably on their way to Matsuyama by now by night train as they have a live there tomorrow. But at least I get to meet them in the flesh, off the stage. Note to self: next time, REMEMBER the presents. I forgot that they do a collection for presents at the beginning of the live where they put baskets labelled with each member's name for you to put your present in. RAWR. There goes my chance to say "Eh I come all the way from Singapore to see you k! Touched or not!" XDXDXD
